Everything is awesome!!!

So this week was interesting. My companion and I having been contacting like none stop looking for new positive people. Our new mission President Brown is totally different from President Russell. President Brown gave us a talk about how he wants to baptize more families and Priesthood holders and how he doesn't want just baptisms but he wants converts. So this week we looked for new families to teach and we found a few. One family that both the husband and wife before meeting each other talked to the missionaries and are super positive. Then another family that we contacted weeks ago but could never find them because they were never home. Well on Thursday it was 8:59 and we had 0 baptismal dates and we have to have at least 3 everyday and I was praying for a miracle and we passed by their house and the wife was just closing this huge metal gate door and I practically ran into her and she asked us, "Do you want to come in"? OF COURSE YES!! So we went in and talked a little bit about our message and then we asked them if they would like to be baptized if they got an answer to their prayers that these things were true and they accepted and it was awesome!
Also this past week I got this virus from mosquitoes. I think it´s a type of Chingenguna but I´m getting better. All I had was a rash all over my body for 3 days that itched like crazy! Plus diarrhea and a cold. It´s something that´s been going around. Thank goodness I didn't get Chingenguna because that´s ten times worse, you cant walk because your bones hurt so much for a week.

Also Rafaela and her daughter Tatiana finally came to church!!!!!!!!!!! We passed by their house in the morning and her husband was sitting in the door way. The thing is that her husband doesn't like us that much and tries as hard as possible to keep his wife from going to church. Rafaela reads The Book of Mormon and believes it´s true but her husband doesn't like it. So when we passed by we saw each other and just kind of stared at each other like a stand off. Then I said, "Entonces?" and he replied "Entonces?"  and I asked him if his wife was home and he said, "She´s sleeping, she cant come to the door".................I was mad. So we left and after half an hour we started heading over to the church when I get a call saying that Rafaela and her daughter were at church! Turns out they had left the house telling her husband they were going to the Market......WAHHOOO!! She came to church!
Then a man name Jermes came to church also. The problem with him is he knows a ton of Anti Mormon stuff and has thrown everything at us. He´s nice and he´s willing to read the Book of Mormon but he doesn't believe in the Book of Mormon. He used to be catholic but now he´s not and he´s come with us twice to church.
Hermana Mendoza my companion just left her training and this week I´ll probably have transfers, we´ll see.
Love you all!! Les amo un monton!

Ponga su confianza primeramente en El Senor

This past week has been an interesting learning experience. We found a man who went to church twenty years ago named Jermes and has read the Book of Mormon all the way through and has read a lot about Mormons on the internet (Anti Mormon stuff) but has an open mind. He came to church with us and then after the sacrament meeting left but then some Elders started to talk to him and they talked with him for 2 hours and they were just arguing about Joseph Smith and to see if the missionaries knew about tal tal cosa but when we went by him I was like "We are not going to argue with him but teach by the spirit" and I asked him if he had ever prayed to know which church was true and he said no. So this week I committed him to pray about our message and to see if God answers his prayers.
Rafaela didn't come to church this week and I think this week we need to be a little bit more bold with her because she believes the Book of Mormon is true but doesn't make the connection that if it´s true then the church is true. We might have to drop her but we´ll see what happens.
Then Margina came to church this week! She's reading the Book of Mormon but the problem is that she's living with her partner who doesn't want to get married. They have a kid together and I think that´s the only reason they stay together but we´ll see what happens.
This past week we only had 2 investigators at church but we activated 5 other inactive people!! My joy was out of control! The only problem is that we didn't complete with 7 in church. Oh we´ll 2 investigators plus 5 inactives is 7 right! HAHAA! I have to go but I just want to know that one of the most important things we need to do, is put our trust in the Lord. Not in our own strength.

Jesus was in a dream!

I don't have very many words this week. This past week it has rained everyday hard core.

We met this women from this Seventh Day Adventist church and her name is Rafaela. We started to visit her and then the second visit that I had with her I asked her to pray to see if this was the true church and if she felt like it was true to be baptized but I didn't even get to the baptism part before she said, "yes". I was like what? " Yes I will join your church if I get an answer" I was blown away. Then she said that she had had a dream where she was talking with Jesus and he asked her about her church and our church. She told him that she was pretty comfortable in her church. Then he told her that one day Men in white shirts or Sisters would tell her the truth and she would know it was the truth. He then told her that they would ask her a specific question. She told me, "That question you just asked me was the exact same one that Jesus told me"
She is absolutely amazing! Her husband doesn't like us that much and she thinks that the Sabbath is on Saturday because the bible she has says the word Saturday which is totally a man made bible where people add or take our words but she still believes it´s Saturday so if you could pray for her and for her husband that his heart will be softened. She is an amazing women who would be an amazing member but please pray for her that she´ll get an answer!

I don't have any thing much except I love this quote by Hinckley!

Do you feel gloomy? Lift your eyes. Stand on your feet. Say a few words of appreciation and love to the Lord. Be positive. I do not know how anybody who is a member of this Church can feel gloomy for very long. This is the day which has been spoken of by those who have gone before us. Let us live worthy of our birthright. Keep the faith. Nurture your testimonies. Walk in righteousness and the Lord will bless you and prosper you, and you will be a happy and wonderful people.

I love this quote by Gordon B Hinckley because he´s right! We need to stop looking for the rainy storms of life and look more fully for the sun shine! I love also what his wife said when she said, "I like laughing more than crying...crying gives me a head ache" When we feel like crying we need to go outside take a deep breathe and laugh our head off and laugh about the funny things that life throws at us! Something that I learned from a theater teacher is to smile for a whole minute, it´s a little funny or weird but it´ll help your day be a little more happier.

Love you all!

For those of you who are married or have a companion or for everyone basically! The world needs love!

This past week I learned a lot about humility and selflessness. This past week I began to notice that I was noticing a lot of little flaws my companion has. I began to be critical and a little judgmental. Thank goodness the Lord knows how to humble me and boy did he humble me. I`m learning a lot about living with only one person. I love what President Hinckley said, "Avoid Criticism. Critiscism is the forerunner of divorce, the cultivator of rebellion, a catalyst that leads to failure. I am asking that we turn from the negative that so permeates our society and look for the remarkable good among those with whom we associate, that we speak of one another's virtures more than we speak of one another`s faults, that optimism replace pessimism, that our faith exceed our fears. When I was a young man and was prone to speak critically, my father would say:"Cynics do not contribute, skeptics do not create, doubters do not achieve."

I love that because a lot of us might not have enough patience and I think everyday it`s easier to find the bad in the ones we love rather than the good.

"Resist from making cutting remarks one to another. Rather, cultivate the art of complimenting, of strengthening, of encouraging. It is a responsibility divinely laid upon each of us to bear one another`s burdens, strengthen one another, to encourage one another, to lift one another, to look for the good in one another and to emphasize that good. There is not a man or woman in this vast assembly who cannot be depressed on the one hand or lifted on the other by the remarks of his or her associates." Hinckley

Love you all!

This Week was One Day

The days are starting to blur together I really cant remember what happened this week. I do remember that we had interviews with president on Tuesday and then on Wednesday I found out that I have a parasite and then after that I don't remember much.

Have a wonderful week! I love you all!
