This
past week has been an interesting learning experience. We found a man
who went to church twenty years ago named Jermes and has read the Book
of Mormon all the way through and has read a lot about Mormons on the
internet (Anti Mormon stuff) but has an open mind. He came to church
with us and then after the sacrament meeting left but then some Elders
started to talk to him and they talked with him for 2 hours and they
were just arguing about Joseph Smith and to see if the missionaries
knew about tal tal cosa but when we went by him I was like "We are not
going to argue with him but teach by the spirit" and I asked him if he
had ever prayed to know which church was true and he said no. So this
week I committed him to pray about our message and to see if God answers
his prayers.
Rafaela didn't come to church this week and I
think this week we need to be a little bit more bold with her because
she believes the Book of Mormon is true but doesn't make the connection
that if it´s true then the church is true. We might have to drop her but
we´ll see what happens.Sister Carmen Partridge will serve the Lord in the Nicaragua Managua South Mission Sept. 2015 - March 2017

Jesus was in a dream!
I don't have very many words this week. This past week it has rained everyday hard core.
We
met this women from this Seventh Day Adventist church and her name is Rafaela. We
started to visit her and then the second visit that I had with her I
asked her to pray to see if this was the true church and if she felt
like it was true to be baptized but I didn't even get to the baptism part
before she said, "yes". I was like what? " Yes I will join your church
if I get an answer" I was blown away. Then she said that she had had a
dream where she was talking with Jesus and he asked her about her church
and our church. She told him that she was pretty comfortable in her
church. Then he told her that one day Men in white shirts or Sisters
would tell her the truth and she would know it was the truth. He then
told her that they would ask her a specific question. She told me, "That
question you just asked me was the exact same one that Jesus told me"
She
is absolutely amazing! Her husband doesn't like us that much and she thinks
that the Sabbath is on Saturday because the bible she has says the word
Saturday which is totally a man made bible where people add or take our
words but she still believes it´s Saturday so if you could pray for her
and for her husband that his heart will be softened. She is an amazing
women who would be an amazing member but please pray for her that she´ll
get an answer!
I don't have any thing much except I love this quote by Hinckley!
Do
you feel gloomy? Lift your eyes. Stand on your feet. Say a few words of
appreciation and love to the Lord. Be positive. I do not know how
anybody who is a member of this Church can feel gloomy for very long.
This is the day which has been spoken of by those who have gone before
us. Let us live worthy of our birthright. Keep the faith. Nurture your
testimonies. Walk in righteousness and the Lord will bless you and
prosper you, and you will be a happy and wonderful people.
I
love this quote by Gordon B Hinckley because he´s right! We need to
stop looking for the rainy storms of life and look more fully for the
sun shine! I love also what his wife said when she said, "I like
laughing more than crying...crying gives me a head ache" When we feel
like crying we need to go outside take a deep breathe and laugh our head
off and laugh about the funny things that life throws at us! Something
that I learned from a theater teacher is to smile for a whole minute,
it´s a little funny or weird but it´ll help your day be a little more
happier.
Love you all!
